Wireless Site Survey
Where Does it All Go?

So you are ready to make the leap to wireless? Only trouble is, you've got thousands of square feet to cover, elevator shafts to deal with, and who knows what else? Halestar can help you understand what your organization's need are.

The goal of a RF Site Survey is to provide enough data to determine the proper number and location of access points and rogue detectors. This coverage can vary from highly saturated networks to those with simple wireless zones. The survey will also identify sources of RF interference which might degrade or impact wireless connectivity.

During our Site Survey's, Halestar will perform an exhaustive assessment of your facility, determining the types of access points and antennas required to achieve the desired coverage. The survey will include:

Review of Facility Floor Plans
Halestar will identify key locations for coverage requirements as well as potential problem areas.

Visual Inspection of Facility
Halestar will visit the facility and perform a walkthrough, identifying potential issues such as dense furniture placement, high traffic locations, etc.

RF Scanning of Facility
Halestar will perform RF scans of key facility locations to identify access point and antenna requirements as well as to guage possible interference issues.

Identification of User Spaces
Halestar will work with the client to identify fixed versus mobile user spaces, determining the number of AP's required to cover a given user space.

Determine Preliminary AP Locations
Halestar will approximate the location of access points, taking into account any customer needs for network overlap, rogue detection, asset triangulation, or dense user requirements.

Verification of AP Locations
Using vendor software, Halestar will coorelate their findings using vendor tools to help determine the best match of AP and antenna requirements.

Document Findings
Halestar will provide a document detailing the required hardware components as well as recommendations for AP placement.
